Our annual tournament, the Christine Cup, is this Saturday, June 15 from 9am-1pm. Named in honour of Christine Matheson, who restarted the league 6 years ago and has spent endless hours devoted to it, this is our chance to mix things up a little for the kids.
All teams should plan to be at the field at least 15 minutes before their first game. Each team will play 3 games over the course of the day. There will not be a practice session: games will run for 25 mins in each slot and we will blow the air-horn to signal the beginning and end of the game.
As you can see from the schedule, we have multiple divisions playing at the same time. If you are coaching more than one team (sweet mercy!), you may need to co-ordinate with your co-coach (or parents) to look after one of your teams.
For Atoms and Mosquitos there will be refs, otherwise coaches will do the job.
For Atoms it is arranged as a tournament so winners of each game move on to play winners, ultimately coming to a final showdown. For other leagues, it is just a funsies 3 games.
Load up on freezies, ice cream treats, chips and oh yeah, orange slices and watermelon for your teams.
